don't trust pre-computed api outputs—verify the raw 5-minute tensor

To rigorously validate an alternative signal, a quantitative researcher should not have to trust pre-computed API outputs, static structural priors, or zero-lag execution assumptions. This repository packages a raw 12-month point-in-time 5-minute dataset (data/dubstrata_btc_pit_5m_sample.parquet, 105,120 bars / 365 days: 2025-09-22 to 2026-09-22) alongside a reproducible walk-forward Jupyter harness.

Every 5-minute bar enforces t_valid < t_event < t_ingest <= bar_close_time. Any observation committed after bar_close_time is hard-gated out of bar t and deferred to bar t+1.

02 / 1-BAR EXECUTION DELAY (BTC_OPEN @ T+1)

Eliminates zero-lag close-to-close inflation by entering all forward return targets and backtest fills strictly at the next bar's open (btc_open at t+1).

03 / ZERO STATIC PRIORS (W_PRIOR = 0)

100% unconstrained out-of-sample Ridge regression fitted strictly on purged historical training windows (purge = HORIZON_BARS + 1), reporting Pearson IC & Spearman Rank IC across all 12 monthly regimes.

04 / LO (2002) & NEWEY-WEST SHARPE AUDIT

Discrete conviction-gated hysteresis state machine (zero EMA smoothing) audited under both Blended (3.5 bps/leg) and Taker (6.5 bps/leg) cost schedules.

01 / OOS RANK IC UPLIFT

“Across 96,467 out-of-sample 5-minute bars (12-month walk-forward with 1-bar execution delay and zero static priors), combining the Dubstrata De-Sybiled Prediction Market Layer with the macro/micro baseline increased 1-hour Spearman Rank IC from +0.0088 to +0.0423 (t-statistic = +13.16, p = 1.69e-39).”

02 / LO & NEWEY-WEST SHARPE

“Under a 1-bar delayed execution model (entering at btc_open at t+1) with 3.5 bps/leg blended transaction costs and no EMA smoothing, the standalone Dubstrata De-Sybiled Prediction Market Layer achieved a +31.04% net return (+51.78% gross), 5.26% maximum drawdown, and a +2.37 Lo (2002) / Newey-West autocorrelation-adjusted Sharpe ratio across 413 rebalance events.”

03 / BI-TEMPORAL PIT INTEGRITY

“The Dubstrata Quantitative Evaluation Kit enforces strict point-in-time (PIT) causality across 105,120 5-minute bars (365 days) by auditing four bi-temporal timestamps per observation (t_valid < t_event < t_ingest <= bar_close_time), hard-gating any late-arriving ingestion to bar t+1.”

frequently asked questions

What is the Dubstrata Quantitative Evaluation Kit?

The Dubstrata Quantitative Evaluation Kit (dubstrata-quant-eval-kit) is an open-source, 100% offline point-in-time (PIT) signal verification and 12-month multi-regime walk-forward evaluation workbench for the Dubstrata 16-Channel Multivariate Tensor and De-Sybiled Prediction Market (PM) Layer.

How does the evaluation kit guarantee zero lookahead bias?

Every row in the 105,120-bar 5-minute dataset includes all four bi-temporal timestamps: t_valid (window start), t_event (source matching-engine or block event timestamp), t_ingest (immutable datastore commit timestamp), and bar_close_time (decision cutoff). Any observation where t_ingest > bar_close_time is hard-gated out of bar t and deferred to bar t+1.

How are forward returns and execution fills modeled in the backtest?

To eliminate zero-lag close-to-close inflation, all forward return targets and backtest fills enter strictly at the next 5-minute bar's open (btc_open at t+1), evaluated across both Blended (3.5 bps/leg) and Taker (6.5 bps/leg) cost schedules without EMA position smoothing.

Does the walk-forward evaluation rely on hardcoded weights or static priors?

No. Walk-forward estimation uses 100% unconstrained out-of-sample Ridge regression (w_prior = 0) fitted strictly on purged historical training windows (purge = HORIZON_BARS + 1) across 96,467 out-of-sample 5-minute bars after a 30-day burn-in.

What out-of-sample Rank IC and Sharpe uplift does the De-Sybiled Prediction Market Layer achieve?

Across 96,467 out-of-sample 5-minute bars at the 1-hour horizon, adding the De-Sybiled Prediction Market Layer lifts out-of-sample Spearman Rank IC from +0.0088 to +0.0423 (t = +13.16, p = 1.69e-39), while the standalone De-Sybiled PM Layer generates a +31.04% net walk-forward return and a +2.37 Lo (2002) / Newey-West autocorrelation-adjusted Sharpe ratio at 3.5 bps/leg.

Do I need a Dubstrata API key to run the evaluation kit?

No API key is required. The repository bundles the raw 12-month 5-minute Parquet dataset (data/dubstrata_btc_pit_5m_sample.parquet) and can be executed immediately offline via local Jupyter Notebook, Google Colab, or Kaggle.
